Cadet Cadre Applications

1. Applicants can apply for up to three positions. Please include details on all potential positions in a single application, listed in order of preference. Please see below for details on application requirements.

a. Civil Air Patrol Resume: Please include a professionally formatted resume. All relevant information including previous duty positions, activity participation, awards, ratings, and completed courses should be included. Consult AFH 33-337 as needed for examples of proper formatting.

b. Letter of Intent: The letter of intent should detail which position(s) an applicant has interest in., listed in order of preference. Additionally, applicants for Cadet Cadre should include relevant past experience and details on why they believe they are qualified for the position(s). In addition, applicants should detail their thoughts on what they hope to gain out of staffing encampment, what suggestions they might have on changes to improve encampment, and what they think the most beneficial part of encampment is for encampment students (i.e. basic cadet attendees). The letter of intent should be written as a memorandum per CAPP 1-2.

c. Online Application: Applicants must complete the online registration form found at the following link: https://goo.gl/forms/CeDj95MpTGZ1KQpw1.

d. Selection Event: Applicants for cadet cadre positions will be required to attend a selection event on Sunday, 24 February at Beightler Armory in Columbus, OH. Applicants will be expected to arrive in Blues, and bring PT gear, water, lunch, and a notebook. Applicants who cannot attend will be handled on a case by case basis.

e. Evaluation Form: Applicants must have their squadron commander or designee complete the online evaluation form found here: https://goo.gl/forms/xuqxa6wAAYPffF4N2. This form will take less than 5 minutes to complete, and allows the squadron commander to endorse the applicant and approve their participation in staff selection.

f. Attendance Requirements: Applicants must be able to participate in cadre selection day and a minimum of two staff training days.

2. In the event of non-selection for a cadre position of their first choice, applicants may be contacted by cadet command staff to discuss the possibility of being offered an alternate position.

3. The resume and letter of intent must be submitted via e-mail to the Ohio Wing Admin email at encampmentadmin@ohwg.cap.gov between 1 February and 22 February. Applications will not be accepted after that time. Applicants can expect to be contacted via email upon submitting their applications with interview details.
